Mr Mercedes is attracting a new fanbase after its Netflix release with subscribers realising it's jam-packed with stars. Retired detective Bill Hodges (played by Brendan Gleeson) has been left haunted by the unsolved case involving the mass murderer known as Mr Mercedes.

The killer starts taunting Hodges with emails and videos, leading him to start on his own personal investigation to try and track him down before he strikes again.

Eight years after the three-seasoned thriller made its debut, Stephen King's thriller has now been dropped on Netflix.

As fans binge-watch their way through King's disturbing world, here's a breakdown of the Mr Mercedes cast.

At the heart of Mr Mercedes is gruff retired detective Bill Hodges who now spends his days having a go at his neighbours' children and drinking too much.

This is until the killer that he wasn't able to catch gets in touch and starts pushing his buttons.

Award-winning Irish actor is globally recognised as Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody in the Harry Potter franchise but some of his other major roles have been in The Banshees, In Bruges, Gangs of New York and Braveheart.

Most recently, he starred in the emotional drama H Is For Hawk with The Crown legend Claire Foy.

Actor Harry Treadaway will be remembered for starring as Victor Frankenstein in the horror drama Penny Dreadful, as well as Narek in Star Trek: Picard, DI Keith Pedder in Deceit and Roddy Llewellyn in The Crown.

Treadaway is behind Brady Hartsfield, the witty but disturbed Brady Hartsfield who is Mr Mercedes, the psychopathic murderer who stole a Mercedes-Benz and murdered eight people.

Janey Patterson is the sister of the late Olivia Trelawney who was the owner of the Mercedes that Brady stole to conduct his murders.

Charming but no nonsense Janey wants Bill to continue investigating her sister's death as she's determined to find out who is responsible.

Actress Mary-Louise Parker most recently returned to Stephen King's world as Ms Sigsby in The Institute but is also known for playing Nancy Botwin in Weeds.

Actor Jharrel Jerome starred in the 2016 movie Moonlight, before moving onto other hard-hitting true dramas including Netflix's When They See Us and Unstoppable with Jennifer Lopez.

Jerome is behind Hodges' good-natured but cocky neighbour who helps the retiree with all things computer related which is how he gets involved with looking for the Mercedes killer.

Ida Silver is also Hodges' outspoken neighbour who isn't afraid to tell him like it is but it's clear from the beginning there is a romantic spark between them.

Iconic actress Holland Taylor has been in a plethora of Hollywood films including Legally Blonde as Professor Stromwell, The Truman Show as Truman's (Jim Carey) mum and Beatrice Stanhope in the 1997 film George of the Jungle.

In addition, she worked alongside Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer as Evelyn Harper for 12 years and was behind Cybil Richards in The Morning Show with Jennifer Anniston and Reece Witherspoon.

Holly is Janey and Olivia's younger cousin and while she has OCD and Sensory Processing Disorder, she is a computer wizard and incredibly observant.

Succession fans may recognise Holly as she is played by actress Justine Lupe who was Will Ferreyra in the award-winning drama.

She also portrayed Astrid Weissman in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel and Morgan in Netflix's Nobody Wants This which will be returning for a third season.

Witty and sarcastic Lou Linklatter works with Brady at Supreme Electronix and the closest thing he's had to a real friend.

Actress Breeda Wool was behind Faith Duluth in the Lifetime drama UnREAL and has had roles in films like Erasing Eden, Craters of the Moon and Automatic at Sea.

Rounding off the cast is 90210 actress Kelly Lynch who played Laurel Cooper.

Lynch portrays Deborah, Brady's alcoholic mum who is sickly obsessed with her son.
