Delhi to Mumbai Flight Fare: Thousands of people travel from Delhi to Mumbai daily. To save time, most choose flights. This route is always busy. However, recently, fares have suddenly reached record levels, significantly impacting travelers' pockets. On December 4th, MakeMyTrip reported a minimum Delhi-Mumbai flight price of ₹21,159, and the maximum fare for some flights was as high as ₹38,676.

For December 5th, the minimum fare was recorded at ₹17,788 and the maximum at around ₹31,000. The main reason for the sudden increase in fares is believed to be the recent operational disruptions at IndiGo Airlines. Let's explore the entire issue and its impact on passengers.

Reasons for higher ticket prices?

IndiGo Airlines has been struggling for the past two days due to delays and cancellations. Consequently, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) summoned airline officials to explain how this significant disruption occurred and their plans to address it. The airline stated that the primary reason for operational difficulties was a crew shortage. 755 out of 1,232 flights had to be cancelled due to the crew shortage alone.

Due to IndiGo's increasing problems, ticket supply on busy routes like Delhi-Mumbai has been low, while demand has been high. Consequently, fares have risen to record levels. The persistently high passenger traffic at airports has reduced flight availability, leading to higher ticket prices. Passengers have been forced to alter their travel plans, and many have had to pay more based on flight schedules.

The situation may improve in the next 48 hours.

Thousands of people travel daily on the Delhi-Mumbai route, so the sudden increase in fares from 20,000 to 38,000 rupees has become a major problem. Passengers had to pay more, and many had to change their flights. This further increased the congestion at the airport.

IndiGo says it is trying to normalize the situation within the next 48 hours. Flight routes are being changed and some services are being rescheduled to ensure passengers can travel on time.
