Mammootty ’s crime thriller ' Kalamkaval ' continues to dominate the box office, along with the superstar receiving much love for his magnificent performance in a dark shaded character Stanley Das. Director Jithin K Jose recently revealed that the cigarette scene in the movie was given a clever improvisation by Mammootty that left the whole crew impressed.
Mammootty’s improvisation that impressed the crew
Director Jithin K. Jose revealed in an interview with Reporter TV that the scene where Mammootty chews and spits out a cigarette was entirely improvised by the actor. “That scene gave all of us the most thrill in my life. Mammootty himself improvised it with the cigarette,” Jithin said in the interview.
The visual was carefully planned, but Mammootty’s spontaneous act added a clever layer to the sequence. “I told him there would be a cigarette in his hand and that it should be discarded according to the scene. He replied, ‘I won’t throw it, there’s another plan, did you see?’ And that’s how the improvisation happened. After it was shot, it gave all of us goosebumps. Everyone on set applauded Mammootty’s spontaneity,” Jithin added.

Kalamkaval’s box office success As reported by the Sacnilk website, within its first three days, 'Kalamkaval' has raked in an estimated Rs 16.35 crore India net. The film earned Rs 5 crore on Friday, Rs 5.5 crore on Saturday, and a high of Rs 5.85 crore on Sunday.
Day 3 occupancy reflects strong audience interest, with morning shows at 37.40%, afternoon 59.74%, evening 68.41%, and night 58.85%.
