When England started playing Test cricket fearlessly and aggressively, everyone credited their coach Brendon McCullum. McCullum batted in a similar fashion throughout his career. This led England’s style of play to become known in the cricketing world as “baseball”. Baz is McCullum’s nickname.

Australia introduced the new “Ronball” to mock England’s baseball. During Australia’s party celebrations, their t-shirts had a cartoon picture of them saying “Ronball”. Australia’s “Ronball” is also associated with their coach. The term ‘Ronball’ was a reference to head coach Andrew McDonald, nicknamed ‘Ronald’ (after the first name of fast-food icon Ronald McDonald).

The caricature on the T-shirts of the Australian players is of their coach Andrew McDonald. It is said that this t-shirt was given away by Australian opener Travis Head during the Ashes victory celebrations.

Travis Head, along with Alex Carey, played a key role in Australia’s victory in the third Test in Adelaide.
