IIT Kharagpur Admission: IIT Kharagpur has started accepting online applications for admission to its specialized Law and Public Policy programs for the academic year 2026. Applications are now open for the LLB (Intellectual Property Law Honours), LLM, and Master's in Public Policy, Law and Governance (MPPLG) programs.

The last date to register for these programs is February 20, 2026. Interested candidates can find the admission guidelines and application links at iitkgp.ac.in/llb-llm and iitkgp.ac.in/mpplg.

These law programs are offered by the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL). An official statement released in this regard states that RGSOIPL is the only law school in the IIT ecosystem that focuses specifically on Intellectual Property and Technology Law, and leverages IIT Kharagpur's strengths in science, engineering, and technology to deliver future-ready legal education.

Eligibility for Admission
LLB (Honours in Intellectual Property Law) - First Class Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine, or equivalent, or a First Class Master's degree in Science or Pharmacy, or equivalent, or a First Class MBA with any of the above qualifications with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 (if First Class is not explicitly mentioned). Final year students can apply provisionally.

Selection Process
Admission will be through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) that will assess mathematical aptitude, scientific aptitude, English, logical reasoning, legal aptitude, and current affairs. The test will be conducted in Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, with no negative marking. Application Fee
INR 3,000 for General/OBC male candidates
INR 1,500 for female, transgender, SC, ST, PwD, and EWS candidates (non-refundable).
