SS Rajamouli ’s next magnum opus, ‘Varanasi’ starring Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu , is currently in production. Recently, senior actor Prakash Raj took to his social media to reveal that he has completed a schedule of the film.

A few days ago, a report by Deccan Chronicle suggested that SS Rajamouli is considering replacing actor Rajat Kapoor, who was earlier signed to play Mahesh Babu’s father and murmurs suggested Prakash Raj is expected to replace him. However, it is imperative to add that makers are yet to announce the role the ‘Singham’ actor is set to playin the film.
About ‘Varanasi’Speaking of ‘Varanasi’, the film is set to be a mythological action adventure thriller with Mahesh Babu likely to be playing the role of a traveller inspired by Indiana Jones and Lord Ram. His name in the film is Rudhra which a huge muscular body with long hair and a beard. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra will be seen as Mandakini playing the female lead and Prithviraj Sukumaran as the main antagonist Kumbha.
The film's music will be composed by M. M. Keeravani and the film has a budget of over Rs 1300 crore.
It is set to release in 2027.
