Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's government has made important changes in the rules related to distribution of ancestral property and rent registration, giving great relief to the general public in Uttar Pradesh. This decision will reduce family disputes and both landlords and tenants will get direct benefits. Yogi government believes that this decision will promote ease of doing living and will also strengthen law and order in the state.
Under the new decision of Yogi government, now the registry of division of ancestral property can be done for only Rs 10,000. This will include ₹5,000 stamp duty, ₹5,000 registration fee. This arrangement will apply to the division of ancestral property among traditional descendants over three generations.
According to the new rules, only ancestral immovable property will be divided. This includes agricultural land, residential property, commercial property. The division of property will be done in proportion to the share received under inheritance law, which will maintain transparency and reduce the possibility of disputes.
Yogi government has also made the rent registration process very simple and affordable. Now stamp duty and registration fees have been reduced by up to 90 percent. Under the new system, the fees for different rental periods and annual rental categories have been reduced significantly compared to earlier, due to which common citizens will be able to easily register the rent agreement.
With low fees and simple process, more people will now get their rental agreements registered. This will provide legal protection to both the landlord and the tenant and future disputes will be avoided.
