Left arm pacer Mitchell Starc remained fully fit and played in all five matches of the Ashes series and managed to take a total of 31 wickets in the Ashes series 2024-25. His strike rate was 29.6, which is the best among bowlers who have taken more than 30 wickets in an Ashes series. No other bowler has had a strike rate of less than 30 in a single series in Ashes series history. Now Mitchell Johnson has slipped to second place, who was at the top for the last 12 years. Johnson took 37 wickets at a strike rate of 30.5 in the 2013–14 Ashes series.
At third place in the list is Wilfred Rhodes, who took a total of 31 wickets in the 1903-04 Ashes series at a strike rate of 33.2.
