The Chhattisgarh government has provided significant relief to youth and students by taking two important decisions in the fields of education and employment. On one hand, instructions have been given to initiate the recruitment process for 5,000 new teaching positions to address the severe shortage of teachers in the state, while on the other hand, a state-level job fair is being organized to provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth. In a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, strengthening the education system and connecting youth with employment were declared the government's top priorities.

A crucial review meeting of the Education Department was held at the Mahanadi Bhavan Secretariat, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Taking serious note of the shortage of teachers in the state, instructions were given to begin recruitment for 5,000 new teaching positions. The Chief Minister clarified that this recruitment process will be conducted through Vyapam (Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board) to ensure a transparent and fair selection process. He instructed officials to issue the advertisement for this recruitment by February 2026 so that the examination and appointment process can be completed on time.

Government's Decision
During the meeting, issues related to the Teacher Recruitment Examination 2023 were also discussed. The government decided that the validity period of the waiting list for the 2023 examination will not be extended. The Chief Minister said that this will give an opportunity to young people who cleared the exam in previous years to also join government service.

State-Level Job Fair from January 29 to 31
The Skill Development, Technical Education, and Employment Department of the Chhattisgarh government is organizing a state-level job fair from January 29 to 31, 2026. This fair will be held at the Government Engineering College, Sejbahar, Raipur. Private sector companies will interview candidates for approximately 15,000 technical and non-technical positions at the job fair.

The interview date for applicants from Raipur district has been set for January 29, 2026. Candidates who wish to participate in this job fair must register on the online portal erojgar.cg.gov.in for both employment registration and job fair registration. Young people who have not yet registered can complete the process on the portal.
