Let us know what are these things?

Do not offer these things in Shiva puja on Mahashivratri

  • Shivlinga is not worshiped like the worship of ordinary idols. Blowing the conch or offering water from the conch is completely prohibited in the worship of Mahadev. • Lord Shiva is very fond of Belpatra, but torn Belpatra should never be offered in Shiva worship. According to the scriptures, on the day of Mahashivratri, unbroken Belpatra with three leaves should be offered to Shivalinga.
  • No flowers are offered to Lord Shiva in his worship. Ketaki, Kaner, lotus and basil leaves should not be offered on Shivalinga. In its place, Belpatra, Dhatura, Bhang and Shami Patra should be offered.
