According to information received, a senior SWR official said that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced the plan for this Vande Bharat service in a recent meeting. A senior Railway Board official confirmed that the proposal is currently under discussion. Two trainsets (racks) will be required to run the service on this route and the service can be started only after both the racks are available.

Test before launch

Railways will conduct test runs on this route before finalizing the schedule. According to SWR, two Vande Bharat racks equipped with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system will be used in these trials. Before the trials begin, the Overhead Electrical Equipment (OHE) system on the recently electrified Hasan-Thokur (Mangaluru) section needs to be validated and commissioned.
