Yellowstone fans are convinced that Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) will quickly move on from the heartbreaking death of his wife, Monica (Kelsey Asbille).

After an extended break, Taylor Sheridan's popular Western franchise has finally returned to address the fallout from the shocking finale of the flagship programme's fifth and final series.

Still reeling from the death of his father, cattle baron John Dutton (Kevin Costner), the new series Marshals begins with the heartbreaking disclosure that his wife Monica has also died following a battle with cancer.

Committed to being the finest father he can be to their teenage son, Tate (Brecken Merrill), Kayce chooses to join an elite team of US Marshals, utilising the expertise he gained during his period as a Navy SEAL throughout Montana, reports the Mirror.

A crucial member of the squad is former undercover expert Belle Skinner (Arielle Kebbel), a dedicated agent who is equally skilled in covert missions as she is formidable in the field.

Despite Kayce's bereavement being relatively recent, viewers who watched the Yellowstone sequel this past Sunday on CBS, or streamed the opening episode on Paramount+ the following Monday, are already certain some chemistry has begun to emerge between the duo.

Several have turned to social media to forecast a gradual romance blossoming between Kayce and Belle before the first season concludes. One Redditor was adamant: "It's apparent they're setting [Kayce] and Isabella up to be a couple and I think it would actually make for an interesting storyline."

Though someone else countered: "I see that romance coming too and don't really think it will help improve the show at all."

Another viewer commented after learning Monica's fate: "Kayce and Tate have been through a lot!! But anyways, it appears Kayce already has a new potential love interest."

Yet another group of fans have suggested that Kayce shares greater chemistry with a different team member, Ash Santos' Andrea Cruz.

One X user declared "I ship Kayce and Andrea", with another responding: "I'm glad I ain't the only one the moment I saw that tease with [Kayce] and Andrea at the bar I knew there was something between them."

"There was some fun tension between Kayce and Andrea ngl I'm intrigued," another person commented.

Whilst a final fan speculated: "I see Andrea and Kayce getting together....."
