On March 8, Chamba will host a variety of events to celebrate both International Women’s Day and Chamba Day. The Deputy Commissioner, Mukesh Repaswal, shared these plans during a press conference held at Bachat Bhawan.
The festivities will kick off at 8:30 a.m. with a Heritage Walk starting from the Bhuri Singh Museum. This guided tour will take participants through Chamba’s ancient temples, historical sites, and cultural landmarks, providing a glimpse into the town's vibrant heritage.
After the walk, a district-level event will take place at the historic Darbar Hall of Akhand Chandi Mahal.
As part of the celebrations, three special lectures will be held at Government Postgraduate College, Chamba. Successful women from various sectors will engage with students, sharing their inspiring stories and accomplishments.
DC Repaswal encouraged community members, particularly the youth, to actively participate in the events. He emphasized the importance of recognizing Chamba’s historical integration into India in 1948 while also celebrating women's empowerment.
District Tourism Officer Rajiv Mishra and representatives from the media were present during the announcement.
