Monsoon Alert: With the onset of March, the heatwave has begun to pick up in North India. Several states across the country are experiencing intense heat. Temperatures in Delhi have reached above 35 degrees Celsius. Heatwave-like conditions have also been observed in some areas of Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department predicts that a new Western Disturbance may bring changes to the weather in some areas of North India next week.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and rain in Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Odisha. Snowfall has been predicted in the Himalayan states of J&K, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

The Meteorological Department has reported that the maximum temperature in Jammu and Kashmir has been above the season’s average. The Meteorological Department said that the weather will remain clear in most areas of Himachal. However, rain is expected in the next two days due to the activation of a Western Disturbance. According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, light rain and thunderstorms are expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on March 10. Furthermore, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for light rain in the coastal areas of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh on March 11.

Weather Conditions in Rajasthan
Temperatures in Rajasthan have exceeded 40 degrees Celsius in recent days. Barmer recorded a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. Madhya Pradesh also recorded a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. The national capital recorded a temperature of 35.6 degrees Celsius. A heatwave alert has also been issued in Gujarat.

Rain and Snowfall Warning in Kashmir
The Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy skies on Monday, with light rain or snowfall possible at some locations. According to the weather forecast, light rain or snowfall is expected at many places in the higher reaches between March 10 and 12. The Meteorological Department predicts scattered rain or snowfall in the higher mountainous regions between March 13 and 17. According to the Meteorological Department, daytime temperatures may drop by 4 to 6 degrees in Celsius many places between March 9 and 12.

The effects of heat are being felt in the hilly states. Severe heat waves were recorded in Dharamshala and Bhuntar in Himachal Pradesh, while heatwave-like conditions were also experienced in Sundernagar.
