Can eating momos cause death?
Can Eating Momos Cause Choking Death ? A tragic incident has occurred in Tarn Taran, Punjab, where two siblings died under suspicious circumstances. It is reported that their health deteriorated overnight after eating food from a roadside stall on Saturday evening. When their parents took them to the hospital on Sunday morning, doctors declared them dead.

According to the family, the children had eaten momos and chips from a street vendor on Saturday evening. Shortly after eating, both began vomiting. Initially, they were given anti-nausea medication at home, after which they fell asleep. However, when the children did not wake up for a long time on Sunday morning, the family became alarmed and rushed them to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead. Let us tell you whether eating momos can cause death.

Can this also cause death?

Dr. Chandril Chugh, US Trained Adult & Pediatric Neurologist, shared a video on social media and said that people who love to eat momos should be aware of the four diseases caused by it. According to him, it causes fatty liver problem because all the flour goes into the liver and later causes such problems. Secondly, it also causes blood pressure and heart disease. This happens because the spicy chutney we eat with it contains sodium. He further says that it can also cause cancer. The fourth biggest cause of death is heart attack. Dr. Chandril says that oil causes blockage in the heart, due to which the problem of death due to heart attack is increasing even among young people.

What things should be kept in mind while eating momos?

According to experts at AIIMS, New Delhi, caution is essential when eating momos. Momos are soft and slippery in texture. If swallowed without proper chewing, they can become stuck in the throat, leading to choking and, in severe cases, even life-threatening. This warning was issued after a man collapsed at a shop while eating momos. The post-mortem report revealed a dumpling stuck in his windpipe. Medical experts concluded that the man died from choking.

May be harmful

Another important point is that most momos are made from refined flour. This flour is essentially a part of the grain that contains little to no fiber. It undergoes several chemical processes to make it soft and white. Some experts believe that these chemicals can be harmful to the body if consumed in large quantities over a long period of time. They can affect the pancreas and even disrupt the body’s insulin production.
