India Real Estate Trend : India's real estate market is rapidly changing, and this change is being led by millennials. According to a new report, Gen Z and young millennials are buying homes at younger ages than ever before and are increasingly shifting from metro cities to tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

According to the report “How Bharat Finances Its Housing Dreams” by home finance platform BASIC Home Loan, digital loans and better financing options have made it easier for millennials to buy a home.

Why housing trends are changing

According to experts, there are several reasons behind this change:

Easy and fast home loans from digital lending platforms

Better financial awareness

Lower property prices in tier-2 and tier-3 cities

Better infrastructure and employment opportunities in smaller cities

What experts say

According to Ashish Bhutani, CEO, Bhutani Infra, today's younger generation is viewing real estate as a reliable vehicle for long-term wealth creation. Digital loan approvals have made home purchases easier than ever.

Meanwhile, E Lakshminarayana Reddy, Founder and CEO, EARA Group, says that better infrastructure and lower prices in tier-2 and tier-3 cities are attracting buyers.

Additionally, according to Prakhar Agrawal, Director, Rama Group, today's young buyers seek not just homes but a better lifestyle. Factors like green space, sustainable design, and healthy community living are now playing a key role in home-buying decisions.

Experts believe that India's housing sector could grow even faster in the coming years, driven by young buyers, digital financing and the growing economic strength of smaller cities.
