On Monday, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) released an official notification regarding the recruitment of a total of 1,060 posts for Constables and Head Constables. The posts for which the SSB has invited applications include 827 vacancies for Constables and 233 for Head Constables. Furthermore, applicants must possess a certificate of having passed the 10th and/or 12th grade—depending on the specific post applied for—from a recognized institution or board. Additionally, candidates are required to fulfill other prescribed eligibility criteria.

Age Limit

The minimum age for candidates has been set at 18 years, while the maximum age limit ranges up to 27 years, depending on the specific post. Furthermore, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit in accordance with applicable government rules.

Application Fee

At the time of applying, candidates are required to pay the prescribed application fee online, based on their respective categories. For General, OBC, and EWS candidates, the fee is ₹100. However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Ex-Servicemen, and women candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.

Selection Process

Eligible candidates will be selected based on a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST), Written Examination, Skill Test/Typing Test, Document Verification, and a Detailed Medical Examination. Upon selection, the monthly salary for successful candidates will range between ₹21,700 and ₹81,100, depending on the specific post.
