Mohanlal teams up with seven directors for busy 2026 slate - Report
Malayalam superstar Mohanlal has multiple films in his pipeline this year and will be working with several directors. As per the latest reports, it is suggested that he has already agreed to do seven Malayalam films. Work has already started on the first one and more projects will begin soon.
‘L366’ shooting in progressCurrently, Mohanlal is shooting for a film with director Tharun Moorthy. The movie is tentatively called ‘L366’. This film brings them together again after their earlier work. Mohanlal plays a police officer named TS Lovelajan. The shooting is going on and is expected to finish by May. The story is written by Ratheesh Ravi. Shaji Kumar is handling the camera, and Jakes Bejoy is composing the music.
Next big projects lined upAs per Cine Express after finishing this film, Mohanlal will move to another project with director Vishnu Mohan. This movie is tentatively titled ‘L367’. It is being made on a big scale and may include actors from other industries, too. Vishnu Mohan is both writing and directing the film. Apart from this, Mohanlal has also signed films with Priyadarshan, Dileesh Pothan, Sathyan Anthikad, Jude Anthany Joseph and Jeethu Joseph. Some of these collaborations are happening for the first time.
The film with Priyadarshan is very special because it will be his 100th film. It is expected to start later this year. Mohanlal will also work again with Sathyan Anthikad. His film with Dileesh Pothan is said to have a big cast. Another important project is with Jeethu Joseph after the third part of the ‘Drishyam’ series. Along with Malayalam films, Mohanlal has also signed a big Telugu movie, showing that he is ready to reach a wider audience.
He was last seen in ‘Hridayapoorvam’ and will soon return to the silver screen with Mammootty in ‘Patriot’, which also features Fahadh Faasil, set to release on April 23, 2026.
