Acid Attack Incident Shocks Uttar Pradesh

A harrowing incident has emerged from Uttar Pradesh, where a man attacked a widow with acid two years ago after she rejected his marriage proposal. On Monday, the court sentenced the perpetrator to 30 years in prison and imposed a fine of 100,000 rupees. Additionally, the court ordered compensation for the victim under various schemes, taking into account the evidence and witness testimonies that led to this severe punishment. The police played a crucial role in bringing the case to justice.

Brutal Attack on the Road

The victim, Khushboo, lost her husband in a road accident in January 2022. Following his death, she moved back to her parental home with her child. One morning at around 9:30 AM, while she was on her way to work, a man named Ajay, who was infatuated with her, approached her and began pressuring her to marry him. When Khushboo refused, Ajay attempted to grab her, but she managed to walk away. In a fit of rage, he splashed acid on her and fled the scene.

Ongoing Medical Treatment

Ajay has also been fined 100,000 rupees, which will be paid to the victim as compensation. The widow's courage and determination were pivotal in bringing the case to this conclusion. She testified in court that Ajay's family had pressured her to settle the matter, threatening her with harm if she did not comply. Despite these threats, she remained resolute and fought back bravely after the attack, refusing to be intimidated.

Justice Served

Ajay, a father of two, was rightfully labeled a monster for his actions. He poured acid over Khushboo due to her refusal to marry him. Neighbors alerted the police and her father about the incident. After the charges were established, the court found Ajay guilty based on the evidence and testimonies presented. The court acknowledged the victim's bravery in enduring her injuries and testifying in court. The ruling emphasized that the victim would carry the burden of this trauma for life, and thus, a 30-year prison sentence for Ajay was necessary to fulfill the demands of justice.
