, specifically black mould, is common in many homes and I've struggled to remove it from the wall and ceiling in my spare room.

Not only do the mould spores look unsightly, they can trigger an allergic reaction in your immune system.

After trying and failing to remove mould with , and bleach, my next option was to use a targeted mould remover to it.

I opted for a product that's described as "10 times better than bleach" - . This retails for and for .

After reading fans' reviews on how well this spray performs on mould, I was hopeful this would do the trick.

The description of the product on the Cillit Bang website reads: "The powerful formula of Cillit Bang Black Mould Remover is Britain's number one black mould remover and removes 100 percent of visible black mould.

"Cillit Bang Black Mould Remover also has 10 times more cleaning power than pure bleach for a sparkling clean and healthy home."

Before spraying the mould remover, I made sure to open all the windows in the room for ventilation and put on a mask as I didn't want to breathe in the chemicals.

One thing that it forgot to do before applying the spray was to put on gloves. This will help you avoid any of the chemicals going on your hands.

To apply the spray to the wall and ceiling, I turned the nozzle to the "on" position and kept the trigger straight 20cm from the surface before spraying.

Make sure not to squeeze the trigger in the "off" position, this may cause the product to spit when turned "on".

After a minute of applying the spray, the majority of the mould had vanished on its own.

I then checked back in after a further two minutes and decided to wipe the area down and the remaining mould came straight off.

There was no need to scrub at the wall and ceiling and it didn't remove the paint either.

I then rinsed off the cloth and wiped the area down again to wash off the chemicals and get rid of the smell faster.

Since removing the mould with this spray, I've been using it once a month as a preventative measure and it works fantastically.

Alternatively, there are other mould sprays on the market that cleaning fans have found success with like the or the .
