For this, Kanpur Development Authority has started identifying the land. However, there is a dispute going on between KDA and Kanpur Municipal Corporation regarding the land. KDA is now in a mood to bring many schemes on its land, which also includes Aerocity.
There is a dispute going on between Kanpur Development Authority and Municipal Corporation regarding lands for a long time. KDA has declared its ownership over the proposed schemes of Municipal Corporation and some other lands. After this dispute escalated, it went to the government and an answer was sought from there. One of this land is in Chakeri. The Municipal Corporation was to install a solar plant on this land, for which the KDA has refused.
In its reply filed, KDA has said that this land is for Aerocity, because there is an airport nearby. In such a situation, KDA will build Aerocity here. KDA has said in its reply that KDA's ambitious scheme Aerocity is proposed on the more than 1250 acre land of Chakeri Sewage Farm which is being demanded by the Municipal Corporation. Even the process of selection of consultant company for Aerocity is being done. He told that this aerocity will be built exactly on the lines of the aerocity built near Delhi Airport.
Despite this, KDA has said that if the Municipal Corporation needs land for its project here, then 50 to 100 acres of land can be made available to the Municipal Corporation. According to KDA sources, Kanpur Development Authority requires land for residential schemes. At many places, KDA land is encroached upon and KDA is engaged in freeing it from encroachment. In such a situation, if the land is given to the Municipal Corporation, then the ambitious plans of the Kanpur Development Authority itself will be stopped.
