People often renew their plans immediately after they expire, fearing their SIM cards might get deactivated. Many users are unaware of how long their SIM card remains active after their recharge plan ends. This is particularly challenging for individuals using multiple SIM cards. TRAI’s new guidelines address these concerns by extending the validity period for SIM cards, even without a recharge.

• Details: Jio SIMs remain active for 90 days without a recharge. However, incoming call services may vary based on the user—some have a month, others a week, or just a day.
• Reactivation: After 90 days of no activity, the number will be disconnected and reassigned.

• Details: Airtel SIM cards stay active for 60 days after the plan expires.
• Reactivation: Users must purchase a ₹45 validity plan to keep the number active.

• Validity Without Recharge: 90 days
• Details: Vi SIM cards remain active for 90 days.
• Reactivation: To extend validity, users need to recharge with a ₹49 plan.

• Validity Without Recharge: 180 days
• Details: BSNL offers the longest validity period among all operators. A BSNL SIM remains active for up to 180 days without a recharge.
