The renowned Moin-ul-Haq Stadium in this city will host the Bihar cricket team’s next match in the current Ranji Trophy 2024–25 against Uttar Pradesh from January 23–26. As the 2024–25 season got off, the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium hosted two Ranji Trophy matches with success in October and November of 2025. In the first few games, the Bihar cricket team put up a fierce battle against their opponents.
On Monday, the cricket team from Uttar Pradesh, captained by Aryan Juyal, reached Patna. Their team includes well-known players like Shivam Mavi, Saurabh Kumar, and Priyam Garg, in addition to the coaching staff, which is overseen by former Indian cricketer Sunil Joshi. Rakesh Tiwari, president of the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA), stated, “The Bihar squad has a great chance to show off their skills against Uttar Pradesh in this encounter. Bihar is poised to become one of India’s most popular cricket destinations because of recent advancements and long-term ambitions.
The team that will face Uttar Pradesh was also revealed by the BCA on Monday. The team will be captained by Veera Pratap Singh, with Sakibul Gani serving as his deputy.
The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) was granted a 30-year lease on the land registry for Moin-ul-Haq Stadium by the Bihar government last month. In order to hold international cricket matches in Patna and provide state sportsmen access to a cutting-edge international cricket stadium, the Bihar government and the Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) have made a significant step.
The Moin-ul-Haq Stadium will now be transformed into a stadium and sports complex of world caliber. There will be seating for 40,000 people inside the stadium, in addition to 250 VIPs and 76 corporate boxes.
The sports complex will also include a five-star hotel, a fully furnished player’s dormitory, restaurants, a clubhouse, a badminton court, a volleyball court, a swimming pool, and other contemporary conveniences.
