Students of all classes have been asked to obtain parental consent for their APAAR ID. To register for APAAR ID, students must submit their Aadhaar card. The initiative was initiated by the Center, which set up the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Bank) to issue APAAR ID cards. APAAR ID provides benefits to all students, allowing them to access their educational degrees, accolades, scholarships and other achievements. The move aims to establish an academic record database for all students.
What is APAAR ID?
The full form of APAAR is 'Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry'. This card acts as an educational ecosystem register, also known as 'EduLocker'. APAAR ID was introduced by the government in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. APAAR will provide a unique identity to all students across the country.
The APAAR ID will serve as a digital ID for students in private schools, government schools, and universities.
What are its benefits?
With this facility, students will be able to access their academic credits, degrees, and other achievements. Schools will be able to retrieve any student record for admission, transfer, or other academic purposes using the unique APAAR ID. Additionally, the One Nation One Student ID card will be linked to the student's Aadhaar card.
Consent Form
Schools can register the student for APAAR after getting the consent of the parents, and obtaining personal details such as height, weight, blood group, and other information. Similarly, if parents want to apply for APAAR, they will have to take consent from the school. The consent form can be downloaded from the official APAAR website.
