shared a scathing two-word nickname at The Stig after his 2015 departure from the hit motoring show.

Since 2002, he hosted the program alongside Richard Hammond and James May which offered expert insight and hilarious motor-based challenges for its automotive community.

Top Gear also had The Stig, a previously anonymous character who donned a racing suit, and full-face helmet and never spoke during the episodes.

Its primary role was setting the lap time for the cars tested on the show and instructing the show's celebrity guests off-camera.

During the premiere, Jeremy famously said: "We don't know its name, we really don't know its name, nobody knows its name, and we don't want to know, because it's a racing driver."

However, just a few years later the 64-year-old lashed out and called The Stig "a greedy t**t."

This came after Ben Collins revealed himself to be the show's masked stunt driver and claimed he wanted to release a book about his experience as The Stig.

The BBC then claimed that the character's identity being unveiled was a breach of contract and resulted in legal action against Ben.

Despite this, he argued that he had every right to publish a book as a Top Gear presenter from the show. Eventually, the case came to a head in court, and Ben was granted the right to publish his book.

In 2010, Jeremy shared his thoughts on the ordeal during a charity event and labelled the TV star as "greedy."

He said: "As you may know we've had a problem with The Stig. Everyone now knows his real name. It's The T***. Actually to give him his full name it's The Greedy T***."

In the series 15 Christmas special, Top Gear presenters referred to the Stig as "The Splitter" and publicly ridiculed the Stig, by using the picture of the Stig for drive-by shooting targets.
