There is good news for those who want to become teachers in Uttar Pradesh. The state government is going to recruit more than 8,900 teachers. Necessary changes have been made in the recruitment rules and the department will soon send updated guidelines to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). The recruitment process is expected to start soon.

The recruitment of LT grade teachers for government schools in Uttar Pradesh is getting delayed as there is disagreement over the qualifications required for these posts. The ongoing dispute has led to several changes in the recruitment rules, making the process inconsistent and sporadic. In 2020, when the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) announced the recruitment of 1,400 spokesperson posts, similar problems occurred. In response, the commission made it clear that it would not issue any advertisement until the anomalies in the rules were removed.

Teacher Recruitment 2025, Rules

The recruitment rules were earlier unclear regarding the eligibility for postgraduate degrees in fields such as biochemistry, applied chemistry, and applied economics for economics. To remove these anomalies, the rules have been amended and the word 'equivalence' has been removed. If the commission fully supports this change, it will pave the way for recruitment to 7,250 LT grade posts and 1,650 lecturer posts. UPPSC will start the application process by issuing an advertisement, as the commission already has requests for 3,777 posts (3,341 LT and 436 lecturer posts).

For a long time, the issue was going on in teacher recruitment as to which degree is valid for which post. A special committee was formed to overcome this. This committee made new rules in consultation with the officials of the Higher Education Department.
