A businessman and two other people were enticed by promises of fourfold profits in a startling fraud case involving around ₹3 crore in the Bandra region. Animesh Sanjay Sharma is a businessman who has been a director of a petrochemical transport firm for 15 years. He and his family live in Bandra. He was introduced to a Delhi-based private firm in October 2023 by a friend who said it was preparing for an IPO on the US stock market and needed financial contributions from possible investors. The BKC Police filed a case against the five directors after receiving a complaint from Sharma, alleging fraud and violating the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors Act.
