Mauni amavya Maun vrat: Mauni Amavasya is considered a very important festival in Hinduism. This Amavasya comes in the month of Magh and is called Mauni Amavasya. Rules to keep silence fast:

Wake up in the morning: First wake up early in the morning on Amavasya. Then after regular works, take a bath in the Ganges or a holy river. If it is not possible to bathe in the river, then take a bath at home and sprinkle Ganga water and wear clean clothes.

Worship God: After bathing, worship Lord Vishnu, Shiva or Suryadev. Then take a pledge of silence and meditate on God.

Fast: Fasting on Amavasya is very fruitful. Fruits, milk and light food can be consumed in fasting. There is no problem in drinking water, but avoid tamasic food.

Keep silent fast: One should not talk to anyone during silence. Try to sit in a quiet place and meditate "Om" Chant the mantra.

Donate: Donating on the day of Mauni Amavasya is virtuous. Donate food, clothes or money to the needy.

Avoid negativity: Do not fight, debate or debate with anyone during silence fast. Keep your mind positive and avoid negative thoughts.

Avoid anger and jealousy: Try to avoid feelings like anger, jealousy and greed during silence.

For how many hours to keep silence fast?

The purpose of silence is to achieve mental peace and self -purification. According to the scriptures, silent fast should be kept for 24 hours on the day of Mauni Amavasya. If it is difficult to keep silence for 24 hours, then you can keep a fast for at least 1.25 hours, which can be done after morning bath. In this way, the day of Mauni Amavasya is an opportunity for the purification of the soul, mental peace and spiritual progress.
