Fast: Fasting on Amavasya is very fruitful. Fruits, milk and light food can be consumed in fasting. There is no problem in drinking water, but avoid tamasic food.
Keep silent fast: One should not talk to anyone during silence. Try to sit in a quiet place and meditate "Om" Chant the mantra.
Donate: Donating on the day of Mauni Amavasya is virtuous. Donate food, clothes or money to the needy.
