Rashford is on a mission to leave Old Trafford after his relationship with United boss Ruben Amorim turned toxic on Sunday night when the Portuguese said he would rather select his 63-year-old goalkeeping coach than a player not fully committed to the club.

, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have shown an interest in Rashford this month but a move is yet to transpire and 27-year-old is now running out of time to leave United, with the window set to close on Monday.

Rashford's wages of around £350,000-a-week have proved to be a major stumbling block with interested clubs and Rashford, who would prefer a move to Barcelona, has proven reluctant to lower his financial demands.

In late December Rashford said he was keen to find a new challenge while Amorim quickly decided not to include him as part of his plans despite three goals in his opening two games since arriving from Sporting Lisbon in mid-November.

And after the 1-0 win at Craven Cottage Amorim turned up the heat when asked to provide an update on the wantaway star's future.

In a brutal dig the head coach said: “We missed a little bit of pace to go and change the game and move some pieces. But I prefer it like that. I would put Vital before I put the player who does not give the maximum every day so I will not change in that department.

‘It’s always the same reason. The reason is the training. The way I see what a footballer should do in training, in life, every day. If things don’t change, I will not change. Same situation for every player, if you do the maximum, if you do the right things, we can use every player.”
