Tech News Desk – Bike taxi rules have now changed in Ola, Uber, Rapido Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow, the capital of the country's largest state, a permit for a bike taxi has become necessary. Under the latest rules, a fee of Rs 1,350 and Rs 600 per seat will have to be paid for the permit of the bike taxi. Along with this, now companies like Uber, Ola, Rapido will not be able to make their apps available for private vehicles. Also, private vehicles will not be able to use these apps.
So changed rules
Actually, there are many bike taxis running in the city right now, but most of them are not commercial. Despite this, they are being used commercially. This is causing loss of revenue to the Transport Department. Also, due to change in rules, the operation of illegal bike taxis will also be stopped. The department will issue around 500 permits in the first phase. After changes in the rules, drivers who use electric vehicles as taxi will also have to register their vehicles as commercial vehicles.
If this condition went away, there was a big benefit
Bike taxi service was started in the city in 2018. At that time 750 permits were said to be given. Of these, 500 permits were approved for Ola, 200 for Uber and 50 for other companies. At that time, the condition was laid that within 6 months of getting the permit, the bike taxis would have to be converted to CNG, but later the scheme was left to the dhari. They were not getting permission to convert to CNG, due to which most of the permits were canceled. Now this condition has been removed. With the removal of this condition, there will be no problem in getting permits and more bike taxis will be able to run on the streets of the city than before.
