Mumbai veteran player Shardul Thakur continued his great form in the Ranji Trophy and harassed Meghalaya's batting lineup during the final round of the domestic tournament at Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy in BKC, Mumbai on Thursday. Thakur took a hat -trick and as a result, Meghalaya stumbled at 2/6.
Shardul Thakur achieved 4/43 figure in 11 overs with the help of three maidens. In the second over of the game, Thakur took a hat -trick, when Mumbai captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to field. Shardul made the first victim Balachander Anirudh and then took the wickets of Sumit Kumar and Jaskirat Singh Sachdeva.
The Shardul has also become the fifth player from Mumbai to take a hat -trick in the Ranji Trophy. Meghalaya's team was reduced to just 86 runs in 24.3 overs in the first innings on the basis of Shardul's brilliant batting.
