On Thursday, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that work on the Sultanganj-Deoghar and Bihta-Aurangabad railway lines will shortly start. Following a quick discussion with Ashwini Vaishnav, the minister of Union Railways, he made this announcement. According to Chaudhary, these two initiatives would benefit people in many districts and have a combined value of around Rs 730.59 crore.
The building of a new railway line between Sultanganj and Deoghar, according to Samrat Chaudhary, would make it easier for thousands of devotees to go to the Shravani festival. The construction of the railway line would cost Rs 290 crore and cover a distance of about 78.08 km between the two stations. He said that when this railway line is put into service, the residents of Sultanganj, Asarganj, Tarapur, Belhar, and Deoghar would have direct train connections.
He said that the new railway line from Anugrah Narayan Road to Aurangabad (12.90 km) has been approved by the government for a total of Rs 440.59 crore. The Bihta-Aurangabad new line includes this line.
He said that it would just take one and a half to two hours to travel the distance between Aurangabad and Patna, the capital. For this railway line, 14 stops are suggested. According to Chaudhary, these improvements will significantly improve the state’s public transit and infrastructure.
The Railway Board is thinking of launching the Jan Sadharan Express from Bhagalpur to Delhi, according to statements made by railway officials earlier on Wednesday. He emphasized that the people who live between these two districts of Bihar would greatly benefit from the increase in local trains on this route.
Additionally, the railway board intends to operate the Amrit Bharat Express train between Bhagalpur and Delhi. In order to improve public transportation in the state, the Bihar administration requested that the national government increase the number of trains, according to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar earlier in November 2024.
