The Syros is an interesting car since it tries to enter a new segment of its own while slotting between the Sonet and the Seltos. The sub 4m segment seems to have expanded with everyone wanting a piece of the action. The Syros seems to be a new sort of car. Let me talk about the things I liked which includes the space on offer and that is actually more than even the Seltos with more features too. The rear seat and the practicality is the talking point with even seat coolers being given (surprisingly only for the seat base). The cabin quality is top notch as well while the wide screen display plus the buttons/features is impressive.

There is more tech here and it feels big. The engine line up is also interesting since there is a diesel too for those who drive a lot while standard is also a turbo petrol. Kia has missed a trick by not offering a smoother naturally aspirated unit with a CVT as that suits the car more than the turbo petrol while still the petrol is fun with the DCT being responsive enough. Still the noise insulation could be better.

We also feel the steering could have been lighter and the low speed ride could be more comfortable. However, the overall package is interesting since it leans on comfort and space but within a compact size.

The design is clearly a talking point where some hate it or some love it while I think it looks a bit weird but is colour sensitive. The headlamps placement does mean it could be prone to damage quickly while the boxy design is somewhat like a Wagon R too. The Syros then is Kia's Wagon R and that means it is about space and practicality but pricing is crucial for its success. Let's hope it is priced well and in then it could outsell it's smaller brother Sonet.
