Obnews Tech Desk: The Government of India has announced “India AI Mission” to promote artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the country. The total budget of this ambitious project has been fixed at ₹ 10,370 crore (about $ 1.25 billion). The main objective of the mission is to make India a global leader in the field of AI and develop new techniques.
The purpose of “India AI Mission”
Under this mission, the government will promote AI Research and Development so that India can become the center of AI innovation globally. The following major works will be done under this scheme:
- Construction of advanced AI models and tools
- Promote research and innovation
- Data infrastructure development
- Training and skill development to AI Talent
- Support new startups and industry
The government will promote the use of AI in areas like education, health, agriculture, defense and cyber security under this mission.

Under the “India AI Mission”, state -of -the -art resources will be provided to Indian startups and tech companies, so that they can develop new AI products and services. This will help Indian companies compete globally.
