Huma Qureshi confirms joining 'Delhi Crime' S03 as villain

Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi is the latest addition to the cast of Netflix's Delhi Crime Season 3.

The series, which won the International Emmy for Best Drama Series in 2020, is currently in post-production.

Qureshi will play a formidable antagonist in this new season, challenging Shefali Shah's character DCP Vartika Chaturvedi.

While the speculations were rife for some time, Qureshi has now confirmed the news.

Qureshi expressed her excitement about joining the internationally acclaimed show.

"I was delighted and honored when the makers approached me to play the antagonist for the third season of this internationally acclaimed show," she told Variety.

"I hope we continue to entertain the audience with the show's third installment," she added.

The new season will also see core cast members Shah, Rasika Dugal as ACP Neeti Singh, and Rajesh Tailang as Bhupendra returning.

The third season of Delhi Crime is produced by Golden Karavan and SK Global Entertainment, with Tanuj Chopra returning as director and showrunner.

The series has been lauded for its authentic depiction of criminal cases inspired by real-life events in Delhi.

Qureshi, who shot to fame with Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur, has since explored a range of roles.

Her recent projects include Netflix's neo-noir crime thriller Monica O, My Darling, the biographical drama Tarla on cookbook writer Tarla Dalal, and the body-positive dramedy Double XL.

Apart from Delhi Crime Season 3, she will also be seen in upcoming projects like Jolly LLB 3, Bayaan and Gulabi.
