star Sara Davies has candidly opened up about a stark warning from her doctor before her remarkable weight loss transformation.

The contestant, who joined Dragons' Den in 2019, has undergone a huge physical transformation ever since she took part on the BBC dance competition.

Speaking with , she has since lost three stone and doesn't look at the number on the weight scales. She said: "I had gestational diabetes in both my pregnancies, and as I was leaving the hospital, the nurse told me, 'If you don't get a handle on your weight, you will have type 2 diabetes in 10 years.'

"Every year since I've had my blood glucose levels checked and every year I've seen that number creep up and up towards the pre-diabetic area.

"Then, two years ago, the doctor told me, 'This is getting a little bit out of hand, by this time next year you'll be pre-diabetic.' It was the kick up the bum I needed."

Sara also revealed that she got rid of sugar from her diet and signed up for the Great North half marathon. She added: "I'd run the Great North Run the year before but it was a disaster and I was really disappointed with my time.

"It took me three hours to do it. So last year I was on a mission to get a really good GNR time and kept up the running and the training."

She also said that she was happy being a size 14 and all that matters to her is that she's healthy.

Also, to maintain her incredible figure, she cut back on carbs and ate more vegetables when eating. Sara also revealed that she has stopped drinking alcohol, even on nights out.

She continued: "During filming, we go for dinner as a pack of Dragons, and Peter Jones has a very nice, expensive taste in wine, but I feel so much better for cutting it out."

Dragons' Den airs on Thursdays at 8pm on BBC One.
