Buzz looks at Barcelona’s injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday’s Copa del Rey clash with Valencia.

Barcelona will look to progress to the Copa del Rey semi-finals when they travel to Mestalla for Thursday’s quarter-final tie against Valencia.

The Blaugrana enjoyed a successful outing in last month’s home league meeting with Valencia, scoring five first-half on their way to a mammoth 7-1 victory over Carlos Corberan‘s side.

The Catalan giants followed that result with a 2-2 Champions League draw with Atalanta, before they returned to winning ways in Sunday’s La Liga clash against Alaves, with Robert Lewandowski scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory to move third-placed Barcelona to within four points of leaders Real Madrid.

Here, Buzz rounds up Barcelona’s injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Valencia, who recorded a 2-1 victory in Sunday’s home clash with Celta Vigo.

Gavi was withdrawn in the first half of Sunday’s win over Alaves following a nasty head clash with Tomas Conechny. Barcelona have since released a statement to confirm that all his medical tests have “come back normal” although he will continue to be “monitored” by the club’s medical staff. Providing there are no after-effects, Gavi should be available to feature in the matchday squad.
