Student filmmaker Riya Shukla's short film 'Roose' is going to be a world premiere in the 75th Berlin International Film Festival's generation Caplus segment. The short film directed by Shukla, born in New Delhi, is one of the 15 films competing at the festival to be held in Berlin from 13 February to 23 February.

The 29 -year -old filmmaker, who is a postgraduate in writing and direction from Columbia University in New York, said, 'Roose' journey has been very good. Shukla said in a conversation with 'PTI-Bhasha', 'I am grateful that I got the support of the right people who were young and fearless and at the same time they took the responsibility of scenes in various ways. It looks quite spectacular on cellulide in the monsoon afternoon.
According to the official plot of this short film, 'Roose' is the story of three teenage girls who practice dance in one afternoon. The ceremony is also a competitive program known as the generation Caplus section, also known as Berlinale, 'shown international cinema peeping into diverse dimensions of the world of children and teenagers'.
Special Mention Jury Award
Earlier, Shukla also worked as a creative producer in the film 'Madhu', which was premiered in the International Film Festival Rotterdam and Lincoln Centers Moma. The film won the 'Special Mansion Jury Award' at the Pem Springs International Film Festival. She has also directed the music video 'I Wana Bee Like You' for Norwegian music group Ora the Molecule.
