Entrepreneur Sara Davies is gracing our TV screens once again in the brand-new series, The Big Idea Works. In what’s being hailed as a cross between Dragons' Den and The Repair Shop, Davies teams up with engineers to turn the dreams of budding inventors into reality.

Some of the innovative projects featured include a "sugar pen" for monitoring sugar levels in beverages, a tidy bird feeder, and a uniquely designed pillow that aims to curb . The 16-episode series kicks off at 2pm on Monday (February 2), and viewers will also be able to catch up on BBC .

Spawned from BBC's aim to produce more content outside London and powered by Sara’s staunch commitment to energising the creative sector in her native North East, The Big Idea Works is set to inspire.

Having amassed a millionaire status through her company Crafter's Companion, Davies is passionate about guiding others towards their entrepreneurial aspirations.

reports the series is the latest project for the TV businesswoman, who joined Dragons' Den and became the show's youngest ever female investor. She later took part in with partner Aljaž Škorjanec in the 2021 series.

Sara has undergone a physical transformation since her Strictly journey, and has lost upwards of 3st thanks to a new appreciation of exercise, and is now a “really happy size 14”.

She previously credited her weight loss to a fibre-rich diet under The Fibre First method. She wanted to have a grip on her wait in her 40s after being diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

She said: “I had gestational diabetes in both my pregnancies and as I was leaving the hospital, the nurse told me, ‘If you don’t get a handle on your weight, you will have type 2 diabetes in 10 years.’

“Every year since I’ve had my blood glucose levels checked and every year I’ve seen that number creep up and up towards the pre-diabetic area.

"Then, two years ago, the doctor told me, ‘This is getting a little bit out of hand, by this time next year you’ll be pre-diabetic.’ It was the kick up the bum I needed.”

Who is Sara Davies married to?

Sara's rock has been her husband Simon, whom she married in 2007 after being together since she was 15. Simon proved his commitment by quitting his job to help build Crafter's Companion.

The power couple now share two sons, Oliver, 11, and Charlie, eight. The dedicated businesswoman took three months maternity leave when her first son Oliver was born, before returning to work three days a week.

After a quarter of a century together, Sara Davies has expressed her deep admiration for her husband and gratitude for his unwavering support. "Even after 25 years, I still absolutely idolise the ground he walks on.

"I'm a firm believer that you become a product of the people you surround yourself with, and I know I'm a better person because of his influence on me, and I know I make him a better person as well.

"There is an absolutely unbreakable trust between us, and I think that's the foundation for any successful marriage."

Sara currently resides in a lavish home in Durham with her family. She has given fans glimpses of her abode on social media, including a luxurious room dedicated to her love for crafting.

The kitchen boasts cream units and black granite worktops, centred around a large island unit. Windows overlook her garden, with a dining table situated on the other side of the open-plan area.

The property also features extensive, lush gardens.
