Chelsea have recalled frontman David Fofana from his loan spell at Turkish side Goztepe.

Fofana made the move to the Turkish Super Lig in September and made nine appearances for the club, scoring on two occasions. The Ivorian joined the Blues in January 2023 and has since been loaned out to Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin and before his spell in Turkey.

Opportunities at Stamford Bridge have been hard to come by and he only made four first-team appearances during that season he was on the books at , three of those coming in the .

The west Londoners have been juggling their striker options during the final days of the January transfer window. Fofana is back but will be someway down the pecking order, even if several of the more established names do depart.

Christopher Nkunku is set to remain until at least the end of the season. The 27-year-old, who arrived at Stamford Bridge back in June 2023 from RB Leipzig for more than £50million, was on the radars of both and .

They deemed that Chelsea's demands were excessive and have backed out of any midseason deal, even if Nkunku is thought to be frustrated by his lack of minutes. He has scored 16 goals in 43 first-team games for the Blues, including 13 in 29 under Enzo Maresca this season, but the majority of his outings have come from the bench.

Nicolas Jackson is the leading frontman at Chelsea and that has also limited the minutes of Joao Felix, who could yet leave. The versatile Portuguese star has struggled to find a space in the team with Cole Palmer the prime playmaker.

Felix was only signed in the summer, penning a seven-year contract, but already he looks to be on the move again. A switch to AC Milan for the remainder of the season is on the cards with Chelsea receiving a loan fee in the process.

The Italian side have just allowed Alvaro Morata to leave for Galatasaray, leaving them light of a forward. The Spaniard, once of Chelsea, only moved to Milan from Atletico Madrid in the summer but is another player moving once again in a short space of time.
