Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar are one of the most adored couples in Tollywood, and the duo marked a significant milestone yesterday (February 10) as they celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary . Their journey, which began over two decades ago, has been filled with love, challenges, and cherished moments. However, people also admire them for their well-known age gap as a couple.
Namrata, born on January 22, 1972, is three years older than Mahesh Babu, who was born on August 9, 1975. She first gained recognition after winning the Miss India Universe title in 1993, following which she stepped into the film industry with her debut in Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998). Meanwhile, Mahesh Babu, the younger son of veteran Telugu actor Krishna, made his debut as a child artist in Needa (1979) at the age of four. He rose to fame with his role in Murari.

They first met in 1999 at the Vamsi muhurat ceremony, where they instantly connected. However, the couple kept their relationship discreet, even keeping it under wraps from Mahesh Babu’s parents until 2004.
Unlike many celebrity weddings, their nuptials were a private affair. On February 10, 2005, they tied the knot in Mumbai in the presence of close family and friends. At the time, Mahesh was busy shooting for 'Athadu'.

The couple embraced parenthood with the birth of their son, Gautham, in 2006. Shortly after, Mahesh took a career break, while Namrata faced a personal tragedy, losing both her parents. During this difficult phase, she moved to Mumbai with their son. Years later, in 2012, they welcomed their daughter, Sitara .

Marking their two-decade-long journey, Mahesh Babu took to Instagram to share a loving tribute to Namrata. Posting a candid picture of the two, he wrote, “You, me and 20 beautiful years… To forever with you, NSG.”

His post quickly garnered attention, with celebrities like Twinkle Khanna, Sonali Bendre, and others showering love on the couple.
On the work front, Mahesh is busy shooting for 'SSMB29' with SS Rajamouli , which is expected to feature Priyanka Chopra in the lead role alongside him.
