India’s Got Latent: On June 14, 2024, well-known YouTuber and stand-up comedian Samay Raina introduced India’s Got Latent. Contestants from all around the nation get the opportunity to showcase their skills and hidden talents on the program, which range from stand-up comedy to dance and singing.
Notably, Kill Tony, a podcast that was live-recorded from Austin, served as the inspiration for the program. Balraj Singh Ghai also appears in Raina’s India’s Got Latent. The phrase “an unnecessary reality show, with no point, just like life” is applied to it.
As previously said, competitors nationwide are given a stage on which to display their latent abilities for ninety seconds. Anything they want to show the world, including dark humor, dance, poetry, and singing. They must give themselves a score of 10 before they begin their act. The hosts and special guests will make amusing comments on their performances after their stay. They will grade the competitors as well; if the participants’ self-assessment ratings and the judges’ average score are equal, they will win the program. After then, the competitor keeps all of the money made from the day’s ticket sales. Notably, every episode of this program has a different judge, with Samay serving as the constant.
Nishant Tanwar, Aashish Solanki, Raftaar, Tanmay Bhat, Poonam Pandey, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Neeti Palta, Maheep Singh, Uorfi Javed, Naman Arora, Badshah, Raghu Ram, Gursimran Khamba, Rakhi Sawant, Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, Avika Gor, Tony Kakkar, and Ranveer Allahbadia are among the prominent figures in the industry who have appeared as judges on the show.
Due to several dark jokes that either don’t sit well with internet users or the judges themselves, the program often finds itself at the center of controversy. After arguing with comic Maheep Singh, Rakhi Sawant, who had previously featured in the program, hurled a chair onto the stage. Another time a competitor questioned Uorfi Javed about her body count, she left the program. Raina was sued a while earlier when an Arunachal Pradesh candidate made a comment about dogs. The comedian Jaspreet Singh ridiculed the contestants’ political beliefs and Kerala’s literacy rating in a recent show.
Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija were among the well-known content developers that appeared on the program on a recent episode. “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?” Allahbadia, who is also well-known for his YouTube channel BeerBiceps, questioned a candidate in the same way. The same video clip went viral on social media, infuriating internet users.
Ranveer apologized publicly in a video on Monday, saying, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s got latent.” I apologize. My remark wasn’t amusing, and it wasn’t suitable. I’m not good at comedy. I’m just here to apologize. It is clear that I do not want to utilize my platform in this manner, as many of you requested. I won’t explain the background, rationale, or logic for anything that occurred.
All of the judges, including Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija, were the subject of a formal complaint filed by the Guwahati Police under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, verified the news and mentioned all the sections filed against the judges in a lengthy statement on Twitter. The FIR has been filed “for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion in a show titled ‘India’s Got Latent,'” he said in the tweet.
