Sakkarai (Kathir) arrives in a mysterious town with a deadly past, while Nandini (Aishwarya) faces an uncertain future in jail as the second season continues up where the first one left off.
However, a sudden murder leaves the community and its residents in a bad light that spreads far.
Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals at Prime Video, India, said, “The first season of Suzhal – The Vortex is a great testament to local stories breaking through at a global level and winning appreciation from viewers and critics alike.”
“As we build on this very successful collaboration with Wallwatcher Films, we’re thrilled to bring a second season of this clutter-breaking series,” Madhok said. We are certain that the second season will also surprise our viewers since Pushkar and Gayatri are skilled at telling gripping stories in the thriller-mystery genre with such rich cultural nuances.
“We crafted the second season that further expands the world of Suzhal—The Vortex, delving deeper into an even darker, mysterious, and absorbing crime that is entangled with the lives of the natives of a fictional village and the visually vibrant festival of Ashtakaali,” said Pushkar and Gayatri, who are writers, creators, and producers of the series under the Wallwatcher Films banner.
“The series showcases the adaptability of local storytelling that can appeal to a wider audience, thanks to the brilliant direction of Bramma and Sarjun, the outstanding performances by Kathir, Aishwarya, and Lal, and the ensemble cast that consists of an eclectic mix of experienced and fresh talent.”
