In Maharashtra, the havoc of Guilan-Baire syndrome (GBS) is constantly increasing. The number of people infected with this disease has increased to 207. Two more suspected patients have been met on 14 February. According to the Health Department, GBS has been confirmed in 180 of the total patients. Due to illness, fear has also started spreading among people. After the continuous increasing number of patients, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has appealed to the public not to be vigilant and not to eat chicken.
During a conversation with the media on Saturday, Ajit Pawar clarified that the concerns related to poultry about the disease should be removed and there is no need to kill chickens.
He said that recently GBS cases were reported in Khadakwasla dam area (Pune). Some experts connected it to contaminated water, while some have described it as a disease caused by eating chicken. After intensive review, it was concluded that there is no need to kill chickens.
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar appealed to the public to take care of cleanliness and eat food well. He said that doctors also advise that food should be cooked well. At the moment, the position of GBS is under control and there is no need to panic.
According to the doctor of the Department of Medicine at GTB Hospital in Delhi, it is a neurological disease. Symptoms of this disease are like swine flu. In which cold, cold and high fever occurs. The exact cause of this disease is not yet known.
