When Kumbh Special Train number 04255, which was traveling from Lucknow to Prayagraj, reached the station on Sunday around 1:15 am, the event took place.

Nearly 300 devotees were reportedly waiting to board the train, according to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The doors were purportedly kept closed by the people inside, preventing further passengers from entering.

According to authorities, the devotees became enraged about this and damaged around a dozen windows in two train cars.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has filed a complaint after GRP Circle Officer Amit Singh acknowledged that a few passengers were slightly hurt.

Legal action is being taken, and those guilty for the damage will be identified and punished, according to Prashant Verma, Superintendent of Police (GRP) Lucknow.
