February 17, Washington, United States: A recent “abdominal issue” forced pop diva Shakira to postpone one of her gigs in Peru. During her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran globe tour, she was admitted to the hospital.
“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” Shalira said in a message posted on Instagram stories, according to People.
She chose to postpone her tour stop in Peru’s National Stadium in accordance with the doctor’s advise. She said in her letter that her physicians “have communicated that I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.”
“I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru,” she said, adding, “I am very sad not to be able to take the stage today,” according to the site.
She said that she anticipates being “well” enough to leave the hospital and “able to perform” during her second engagement in Lima.
In reference to those who were scheduled to attend her event, Shakira said that her “team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you,” according to the source.
She ended by saying, “Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all,” and then she signed off, “Shak.” She did not elaborate on the “abdominal issue,” according to People.
Days after Shakira began her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour in Rio de Janeiro on February 11, news of her illness broke.
The musician’s first album in seven years, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, won Best Latin Pop Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2.
According to her, the prize is dedicated to “all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country.”
The singer went on to say, “You are loved,” in her victory speech. “I will always argue with you because you are worth it. The actual “sheroes” are all the ladies who put forth a lot of effort every day to support their families. Therefore, this is also for you,” People said.
