On Monday, February 17, police reported that Bharat Jadhav, a former BJP corporator, had attempted suicide at the Karjat Police Station in Raigad district by ingesting poison. Jadhav was sent to a hospital for treatment after the event generated panic at the police station.
Reports state that Jadhav had been having financial issues for a few days. He claimed to have been financially defrauded in a video that he uploaded on Facebook before to his suicide attempt. After that, he proceeded to the Karjat Police Station and ingested poison. He started to feel uncomfortable shortly after, which prompted rapid medical intervention.
Jadhav is now receiving treatment at Apollo Hospital in Navi Mumbai after being taken there in an emergency. Jadhav said in the video that financial fraud was causing him a great deal of emotional hardship. He claimed that his job had been purposefully impeded and that he was harassed despite running his company honestly.
In his Facebook video, BJP Corporator Bharat Jadhav stated:
“I am under a lot of mental stress today as I take this move. It is now hard to work honestly due to the widespread attitude of Valmiki Karad throughout society. Even though I was operating my company morally, I ran into problems.
Unlike certain politicians, no one can say that I earned money dishonestly throughout my 25 years in politics. In Karjat-Jamkhed taluka, Ramesh Asbe, Yunus Syed, Babychand Dhanawade, and I began a building project four or five years ago. I’m not sure what transpired between Ramesh Asbe, Sachin Ghaywal, and Nilesh Ghaywal, but they have been using intimidation to stop building for the last two and a half to three years.
Nilesh and Sachin Ghaywal sometimes scare off prospective purchasers by sending two or three automobiles loaded with thirty to forty guys to the property. Consequently, no reservations have been made for the building. I am now suffering significant financial losses after investing ₹3–4 crore and taking out bank loans. Interest and loan repayments are becoming an intolerable burden.
To stay out of trouble, I also opened a shop in Jamkhed’s Bhum taluka. Beed’s Munnabhai and Sandeep Awane were partners in one of the projects. In ten to twelve months, we made a profit of ₹60 lakh on an investment of Rs 90 lakh. But disagreements over Rs 5–10 lakh resulted in violent altercations and attacks on my other partner. I advised them to settle the matter amicably, but they created false invoices in order to process GACT payments, which hurt our business financially even though it wasn’t our fault.
Even more shockingly, the Narendra Zurani case had a similar circumstance. I provided possibilities, encouraged someone’s ascent in society, and assisted him in establishing himself in Navi Mumbai. Eventually, however, he began to use his political ties for his own gain. For Rs 5 lakh, Datta Ghangale nominated him as the BJP Yuva Morcha district secretary, even though he had no previous affiliation with the party.
I was often harassed and mistreated in public by Zurani and his colleagues, who included Vishal Dolas, Abhilash Mathew, Sachin Shinde, and Aniket. I was even threatened with a gang war by Datta Ghangale. Zurani’s wife grabbed my collar and threatened me, even though his family knows that he has been cheating on me. One can only withstand so much targeting and slander.
The government must to look into Narendra Zurani’s business activities and the developments in Ward No. 108. I spent millions of rupees buying land in Karjat-Jamkhed taluka, but a few people demanded commissions from me. Rupesh Pawar and Datta Pawar sought Rs 5-7 lakh to clean roads and chop down trees. I am now unable to sell my property because they have dug up the road to it.
Jadhav’s allegations of financial fraud and harassment are being looked at by authorities. We anticipate further information on the case and his health.
