As reported by The StarCheng recently shared with Hong Kong media his memories of a Valentine’s Day in Paris when Chan was there on business. He said he flew out to meet her and escorted her to a jewelry store, where he urged her to pick any item she wished, prepared to exhaust his credit card for her.

However, Chan chose a modest heart-shaped ring, a choice that confirmed Cheng’s desire to marry her, according to the actor.

“That was the moment I knew I wanted to marry her,” Cheng said, emphasizing that the occasion was not a test but a sincere moment of choice reflecting Chan’s genuine preference.

As a token of his appreciation and love, Cheng later gave Chan a 4.8-carat diamond ring on their wedding day.

Cheng, 56, first gained prominence in late 2004 as the lead in the TVB drama “Hard Fate.”

Chan, 34, is also the titleholder of the Miss Chinese International 2014 pageant.

The couple married in 2018 in Bali, Indonesia.
