Necklace at Delhi Airport has been seized from a passenger trying to smuggle in India at Indira Gandhi International Airport in India. On Sunday, custom officials gave this information on the social media platform 'X.
Officials said the passenger had reached Delhi from Bangkok on February 12, where he was investigated. During the search, the officers received a costly defeat of diamonds weighing 40 grams. In this case, an Indian passenger coming back to India from Bangkok from Air India flight has been arrested. On the basis of secret information and profiles of passengers, this passenger has been arrested by the police. The person has been described as a citizen of Gujarat.
How was the smuggler caught?
Custom officials said that on February 12, a passenger from Bangkok from Air India Flight (AI-356) was stopped on the basis of root profiles and suspicion. During his intensive search of his personal belongings and luggage, an expensive goldless necklace was recovered.
The weight of the necklace is 40 grams, but due to the altar diamonds, its price is about 6.08 crores. This expensive jewelry has been seized by the custom officials under Section 110 of the Custom Act 1962 (Custom Act 1962). Also, the accused passenger has been arrested under Section 104 of the Customs Act.
According to the information received, the Custom Department is strictly investigating this entire matter. Officials suspect that this smuggling may be part of a large network, and more arrests are likely in this regard.
