IMD reports that Bengaluru’s temperature has increased by 2.7°C compared to last yearand the city is expected to experience even hotter days ahead. While Delhi recently recorded 29°CBengaluru has remained warmer.
Despite higher daytime temperatures, Bengaluru’s nights will stay cool, with minimum temperatures hovering around 17°C. However, the overall warmth during the day will continue to outpace Delhi.
Early Summer Onset
Typically, summer in Bengaluru begins in early March, but IMD now predicts an early arrival by mid-February. The absence of northern winds, which usually help regulate Bengaluru’s climate, is one of the key reasons for this shift. Meteorologists also speculate that the ongoing La Niña phenomenon could be influencing the city’s warming trend.
Bengaluru’s Consistent Trend of Surpassing Delhi
Over the past two years, Bengaluru has consistently recorded higher February temperatures than Delhi. While Bengaluru’s historical February temperature range is 15°C to 30°CDelhi’s February averages between 12°C and 16°C. This suggests an emerging pattern where Bengaluru is consistently warmer than Delhi in this period.
